As your constituent, I urge you to oppose SB 30. This bill targets transgender youth, their parents, and their healthcare providers, interfering with medical care that has been vetted and approved by every major professional medical association in the U.S., including the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Every parent wants what’s best for their child. Decisions about a young person’s healthcare should be made by families and medical professionals—not politicians. Families deserve privacy and respect when it comes to personal medical decisions, free from government overreach.
Additionally, the Supreme Court is currently reviewing U.S. v. Skrmetti, which challenges restrictions on transgender healthcare in Tennessee. Passing SB 30 now could lead to costly legal battles, burdening taxpayers with legislation likely to be overturned.
SB 30 puts politics above medical expertise, endangering transgender youth, their families, and healthcare providers. I urge you to reject this harmful bill.
