An Open Letter

To: Pres. Trump

From: A constituent in Latham, NY

January 8

Justice delayed is opportunity lost. The evidence before you demands action—not as vendetta, but as vindication of the rule of law that separates us from those who weaponize power without restraint. Your opponents have shown you the playbook. They prosecuted on far thinner grounds than what now exists in Minnesota. The documentary record speaks: conversations captured on tape, admissions tied to patterns that diverted billions meant for vulnerable children and the disabled to foreign networks and extremist elements. Those who ignored this, who retaliated against whistleblowers, who protected these networks—they understood the political calculus perfectly. Governor Walz and Attorney General Ellison's role in allowing this catastrophe to metastasize while simultaneously championing movements hostile to law and order cannot be overlooked. The contrast is stark: support for an ideology explicitly dedicated to violence, yet blindness to systematic theft from America's most vulnerable. You have shown that accountability matters. But accountability must be comprehensive or it becomes selective—and selective justice invites your critics' accusations of the very weaponization they themselves have perfected. Regarding Venezuela: understand that Maduro's removal creates an opening. But avoid the trap of mere occupation. Chavez understood anti-globalist, populist sentiment—the same resentment of distant elites that fueled MAGA's rise. Venezuela shares this instinct even as it differs ideologically. Stewardship, not extraction, builds lasting influence. Temporary occupation breeds permanent resentment. On refugees: screen carefully. Your supporters trusted you to restore sovereignty over borders. Do not squander that trust through bureaucratic loopholes. Those fleeing Maduro's collapse deserve compassion, but not at the expense of security protocols, the principle that admissions serve American interests first,or the interests of your constituents in not being slowly melted into nothing beneath the weight of replacement and multiculturalism. The moment requires consistency: accountability for your political opponents conducted with constitutional precision, mercy toward those fleeing tyranny balanced against vigilance, and vision for Venezuela that transcends mere revenge. Your movement was built on promises to hold the corrupt accountable. Fulfill that promise completely, carefully, and constitutionally. History records who prosecuted and who was protected. Make certain history remembers your administration as just.
