I am absolutely heartbroken to see how many students in my local community have had their visas revoked. We need explanations for why this is happening, and assurance of due process - no more disappearances and lack of accountability. This is creating a culture of fear in all visa holders. Congress must do something to protect local communities, students, and workers, and to promote openness and transparency. It is essential that we uphold the values of free speech and due process that have been essential throughout our nation’s history. I don’t recognize this as the country I grew up in and it’s terrifying.
