Impose Arms Embargo on Israel to Protect Civilians
To: V.P. Harris

Polling demonstrates widespread public support for urgent action to halt the Israeli assault on Gaza. According to a recent survey, seven in 10 likely voters - including majorities across party lines of Democrats (83%), Independents (65%), and Republicans (56%) - support the U.S. calling for a permanent ceasefire and de-escalation of violence. I urge you to heed this clear mandate from the American people and take immediate steps to impose a comprehensive arms embargo on Israel. The death toll among Palestinian civilians is unconscionable, with over 41,000 killed by Israeli forces since the war began, including 16,700 children and 710 newborn babies. Each life lost represents an incalculable tragedy. Israel's disproportionate use of force against a densely populated civilian area flagrantly violates international law and human rights norms. An arms embargo is crucial to prevent further civilian casualties and create the conditions for a just resolution to this crisis. I implore you to uphold human rights, international law, and the will of the American public by acting decisively to protect innocent Palestinian lives.
