While I want to thank all three of you for standing up against the Trump administration and the GOP with the funding bill, I am incredibly disappointed in the feckless leadership of the Democratic Party. Representative Jeffries and Senator Schumer seem more concerned with preserving a facade of stability and decorum than protecting the people the Democratic Party claims to represent. When the administration is ransacking the federal government, disappearing dissidents, clamping down on free speech, and establishing concentration camps outside US borders to hold migrants, there can be no compromise, and I firmly believe history will look back on today’s democrats with the same disdain as Neville Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler. When the GOP was the minority party, they used every tool at their disposal to stop Democrats from advancing their agenda. It’s time for us to play their game, and this starts by removing Schumer and Jeffries from leadership, and replacing them with people with the courage and conviction necessary to meet the moment.
