I am writing as a concerned constituent to urge Congress to fulfill its constitutional duty of oversight and accountability by pursuing impeachment proceedings against former President Donald J. Trump for a pattern of conduct that has gravely undermined the rule of law, democratic institutions, and public trust. Beyond any single incident, Mr. Trump’s administration demonstrated repeated disregard for constitutional norms, ethical standards, and statutory limits on executive power. These include, but are not limited to: the abuse of presidential authority for personal and political gain; obstruction of lawful investigations; systematic attacks on the independence of the judiciary, the press, and law enforcement; and policies that caused demonstrable harm to public safety, civil rights, and democratic governance. Many of these policies were not merely matters of political disagreement, but actions that weakened institutional safeguards designed to prevent corruption and authoritarian abuse. Normalizing such behavior sets a dangerous precedent for future administrations and erodes the foundational principle that no individual is above the law. In addition, recent and ongoing revelations concerning the Epstein files raise deeply troubling questions about transparency, accountability, and potential misconduct involving powerful individuals. Regardless of party affiliation, the American public deserves full disclosure and a thorough, independent investigation into any credible evidence of wrongdoing. Failure to act decisively in the face of such allegations further damages public confidence in our institutions and reinforces the perception that justice is applied unequally. Impeachment is not about retribution or partisan politics; it is a constitutional mechanism intended to defend the republic from abuses of power. When clear patterns of misconduct go unanswered, Congress risks signaling that political power places individuals beyond accountability. I respectfully urge you to support impeachment proceedings and related investigations, not as a political statement, but as a reaffirmation of your oath to defend the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.
