Bad decision on HR 140!!!

To: Sen. Schmitt, Sen. Hawley, Rep. Wagner

From: A constituent in High Ridge, MO

April 19

I cannot believe you let HR140 be approved. Did you realize that poisoning the Mississippi river was sulfuric acid would affect the farmlands of Minnesota Iowa Wisconsin Missouri, Illinois, and all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico,. What were you thinking? Allowing a Chilean mining company to dig copper to sell to China and then the open market who are you representing? I do not want this area to be mined at all. Pollution is the worst kind of corruption. This is an absolutely shameful vote. This vote will have terrible consequences for USA agriculture, as well as fish wild life populations. It will contaminate drinking water for every city down the Mississippi. It will decimating nearly 20,000 jobs in the boundary waters of Minnesota, Is the GOP even a legitimate party anymore, based on this vote I think not. Stop treating our public lands like they are your private property to do with what you wish. Please start looking at decisions like this by asking. Would I allow my kids to swim, drink or eat food from this water? If you don’t know the answer look up the lake of waste water left over in Montana’s copper sulfide mines. The answer is no, so vote that way. Undo this horrible decision.
