Pam Bondi must honor the subpoena and testify or be in contempt of Congress. The subpoena was issued in her name, not her former position as head of DOJ.
She must testify under oath. She can continue to lie and face perjury charges or take the 5th Amendment, which would basically confirm that she had committed crimes as head of DOJ. This was a bipartisan subpoena, but now some GOP members may try to get her out of it. It would take a repeal to let her off the hook, and the Democrats wouldn’t agree to that.
It would also be helpful to have Todd Blanche, the current acting head of DOJ, testify under oath, but I am sure the GOP would not want that as he was the one who interviewed her and then moved her to a much easier prison setting. Maybe Pam could shed some light on that.
