Ethical concerns over Trump-branded cologne

To: Rep. Perry, Sen. Fetterman, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Camp Hill, PA

July 1, 2025

I am writing to express significant concern over the marketing and sale of Trump-branded cologne, especially as it relates to breaking ethical boundaries between private profit and public service. The president's endorsement of any product raises serious questions about self-enrichment, misuse of public office for private gain, and the potential for consumer manipulation especially when that product carries the president's name. This commercialization risks normalizing the blending of political influence with personal branding, which undermines public trust in our institutions. If these actions aren't breaking current rules and regulations, then new rules and regulations are needed to prevent this from happening again.
