An Open Letter
To: Pres. Biden
From: A constituent in Mesa, AZ
July 16, 2024
I've worked in creative fields all my adult life and one thing I've learned is to -- whenever possible -- never put off or "save" good ideas. Good ideas must be acted upon lest they grow stale or, worse, get stolen by others.
Your promise today to cancel medical debt if re-elected reminded me of the above advice. Cancel it now. You’re the President. Student debt as well. Lessen the genocide in Palestine and do what you can to help the ICC right now. Do something about this insufferable Supreme Court now! Please stop saving the good ideas for later. It's not only risky business, it makes you sound like a huckster.
There's no good reason this election should be this close but it is. So do some good things now. It can only help you.
