In the United States, the President cannot dictate to states how to conduct their elections. This overreach by the president isn’t legal, and Congress needs to step in NOW before he turns our country into a dictatorship.
A reminder for you…
Constitutional Authority: The U.S. Constitution's Elections Clause (Article I, Section 4) gives states the primary power to regulate the "times, places, and manner" of holding elections for senators and representatives. However, it also states that Congress can "at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations".
Separation of Powers: The President's role in the US government is to enforce laws, not to write or rewrite them. This is part of the system of checks and balances designed to prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful.
States' Role: State constitutions, laws, and regulations dictate how election administrators carry out federal election functions, like voter registration and certifying results. States may even delegate some of this authority to local governments.
Now, after that refresher, please cosnider all the elderly or home bound persons who are mentally capable (something trump isn’t) who cannot get out to vote. They will be denied their Constitutional right to vote and will be disenfranchised. I’ll bet many are constituents who would vote for you. Are you willing to risk that? Also, there are persons for whatever reason are not in their home state at the time of elections, and should be given the right to vote by mail. This INCLUDES service personnel stationed overseas. Taco certainly hasn’t thought this through.
Lastly, it has been proven that there is minuscule fraud in voting by machine. So he needs to keep hands off that!
DO YOUR JOB as an elected official and hold him to his CONSTITUTIONAL DUTIES ONLY!
