Prioritize peace in Israel-Gaza, halt arms sales

As a Jewish American living in Arizona, I urge immediate action to block the proposed $20 billion in arms sales to Israel. The ongoing humanitarian crisis caused by the Israel-Hamas war has led to a staggering death toll of over 41,000 Palestinian civilians, with entire families wiped out by the Israeli assault using American-made arms. Homes, hospitals, and schools in Gaza have been destroyed, compounding the suffering. While ensuring Israel's security is a priority, the disproportionate force used against Palestinian civilians is unacceptable and counterproductive to achieving lasting peace. Continuing to supply Israel with advanced weaponry only perpetuates this cycle of violence and undermines efforts towards a negotiated settlement. The United States cannot be complicit in this humanitarian disaster unfolding in Gaza. Blocking these arms sales would send a strong message that the indiscriminate loss of innocent lives and decimation of civilian infrastructure cannot be condoned. It is time to prioritize diplomacy and work towards a ceasefire that protects all human lives, regardless of nationality or religion. The path to a just and lasting peace cannot be paved with more weapons and bloodshed.
