Urgent: Demand Accountability and End to Harassment of Judiciary

To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Castro

From: A constituent in San Antonio, TX

April 25

I am writing to express deep concern over the recent public conduct of FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi following the arrest of Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan. Their statements and media appearances have gone beyond the bounds of professional law enforcement, fueling a hostile environment and undermining the independence of the judiciary. Director Patel’s celebratory social media posts and Attorney General Bondi’s repeated disparagement of judges on national television are not only inappropriate but also dangerous, especially given the sensitive nature of Judge Dugan’s arrest and the ongoing legal process. Such actions threaten the foundational principle of checks and balances and risk eroding public trust in our courts. I urge you to speak out and demand that both Kash Patel and Pam Bondi cease their public harassment and intimidation of judges, including Judge Dugan. Elected officials must defend the independence of the judiciary and ensure that all legal proceedings are conducted with respect and due process, free from political pressure and public vilification.
