I am writing because I am powerless to stop the lawlessness currently being carried out by ICE, but as a member of Congress, you are not. ICE is currently operating as an unaccountable paramilitary group. They are conducting warrantless arrests, ignoring over 100 court orders in Minneapolis alone, and have now killed U.S. citizens like Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti. These are not "security operations"; they are direct violations of the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 8th Amendments. I have to ask you plainly: Why are you standing by and letting this happen? What do you have to gain by allowing a federal agency to ignore the Bill of Rights? When a judge’s order means nothing to a federal agent, our balance of powers is dead. We are losing our right to be secure in our homes and our right to due process. I am specifically asking if you will co-sponsor the ICE OUT Act to strip these agents of qualified immunity. If not, what is your specific plan to hold these officers accountable to the laws of our nation? We are the taxpayers funding this, and we deserve to know why our representatives are allowing our Constitution to be shredded with impunity. I look forward to your response and your plan of action.
