What is it going to take for sexual predators in Washington to be held accountable? What we’ve learned about Rep. Tony Gonzales is more than enough to disqualify him from public office. His texts are an all-too-familiar example of a powerful person exploiting their authority to violate someone’s boundaries. The retaliation against his aide once their affair was discovered is precisely why the House has barred any sexual relationships between members and staff. And it turns out he’s done the same thing to women who worked for him before! Yet Speaker Johnson and Republican leadership continue to stand by him. We are fed up with elites covering for those in the club. Please do what’s right, demand Gonzales resign, and if he refuses push to censure and expel him from the House. This cannot wait.
