Reject the Trump Administration's Rewrite of the Forest Service Travel Management Rule

To: Rep. Begich, Sen. Sullivan, Sen. Murkowski

From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK

September 28

Reject the Trump administration's proposed rewrite of the Forest Service's Travel Management Rule. This rule has been the backbone of responsible off-road vehicle management on our national forests for nearly two decades, and gutting it would open millions of acres of protected land to unrestricted motorized access, causing irreversible damage to trails, watersheds, and wildlife habitat. The Travel Management Rule works because it requires site-specific planning and public input before new routes are designated. Stripping those safeguards doesn't streamline anything — it hands special interests a blank check to carve up public land that belongs to all of us. I expect you to use every tool available to block this rollback, whether through oversight hearings, appropriations riders, or direct pressure on the Forest Service.
