SPEAK UP AGAINST DEPORTATIONS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS

To: Sen. Ricketts, Rep. Bacon, Sen. Fischer

From: A constituent in Omaha, NE

April 24

Auschwitz was in Poland. Let me say that again. Auschwitz was in Poland. The Germans disappeared unwanted “homegrowns” to concentration camps in another country. Does that sound familiar?? We are spending astronomical amounts of money to pay El Salvador to take people, PEOPLE WITH LIVES AND FAMILY AND COMMUNITY, and put them in prisons that the one way out is in a coffin. We are witnessing the repetition of a history that should NEVER be repeated. YOU are complicit in this happening. By staying silent, you are condoning the kidnapping and killing of people without due process (a literal constitutional right for any PERSON on American soil). Trump has been ordered by the SUPREME COURT to stop deportations without due process and to return people home and he refuses to do so because “it takes too long to give people a day in court.” It was literally designed to take time!!! It was designed to put a pause on a dictators ability to kill people on a whim. It was designed to give people a right to be heard and make their case, no matter what they’re accused of. By continuing to stay silent, you are just as much to blame. SPEAK UP! DEMAND A STOP THESE HORRORS! If you don’t, your name will be in the history book next to every Nazi that came before you. You are a disgrace to the name of Nebraskans. Grow a spine and speak up!!
