An Open Letter

To: Rep. Davis, Gov. Ferguson, Sen. Salomon, Rep. Ryu

From: A constituent in Shoreline, WA

March 3

Let’s build a USA that lies less I think that it’s important to refrain from lying because it forces us to deal with Truth… even when it’s hard. It’s difficult and painful sometimes to learn the truth of a situation or person, but that is reality. And while people in sensitive circumstances and children should be allowed a more gentle delivery, we should still strive to be as honest as possible. Honesty builds trust. Trust strengthens homes and communities and ties between mankind. Telling the truth frees you from having to hide. {This is meant in a metaphorical sense. If someone is trying to harm you, lie your ass off to get somewhere safe.} Telling the truth also reveals small pressure points that would stagnate and fester over time if not brought to the light. They can be dealt with openly at their onset instead of turning into a cancer. The point of contention can be set straight right away like a broken bone swiftly attended to. The unit or person then heals correctly and strong.
