Chuck Schumer needs to step down as Senate Minority leader. He’s absolutely unfit for this moment. It is time for Senate Dems to make a concerted effort to get him to step aside. I’m sure he is a really nice guy, but that is not what is needed at this moment. We need a fighter who is willing to fight for the American people. We need someone who will not capitulate and who understands how to use leverage and momentum. We need someone who can recognize the wind at your back. I was already annoyed with him for not being willing to support Zohran Mamdani, but this deal to take away ACA subsidies is the last straw for me. The fact that you are making a deal where Democrats get largely nothing is an embarrassment that will take you years to live down. It’s also a massive betrayal to the American people. There needs to be an emergency vote to replace Chuck Schumer. It doesn’t matter what kind of tenure the replacement has or how long they’ve been in the Senate. We need someone who knows how to fight for the American people. It is time. None of us have to support any of you again if you cannot grow a spine.
