I'm writing to express my profound fear and disgust over President Trump's refusal to comply with the court order to facilitate the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia, who was illegally deported to El Salvador. It is shocking to me that our president would flout his obligations under the Constitution and disregard the direction of our Supreme Court, or that he would nod along and smile while the president of El Salvador outright refuses to honor our domestic laws. I urge you in the strongest possible terms to insist that the president comply with the Supreme Court's ruling, whether or not you agree with it, and do what you can to ensure it occurs. If you won't do this, if you won't exercise your power as a Senator in a co-equal branch of government, then I call on you resign so that someone who understands their constitutional obligations to step in. If our political leaders won't comply with our constitutional order, then we have no order at all. Please do your job.
