No War With Iran – Condemn Unconstitutional Strikes

To: Rep. Feenstra, Sen. Grassley, Sen. Ernst

From: A constituent in Huxley, IA

June 22

I urge you to publicly condemn the recent U.S. military strikes against Iran as unconstitutional and to oppose any escalation toward war. Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution grants Congress alone the power to declare war, yet these strikes were conducted without congressional authorization. The 1973 War Powers Resolution further requires approval for prolonged hostilities, yet the administration has bypassed this check. Unilateral actions risk dragging the U.S. into another endless conflict—without debate, accountability, or a clear strategy. I ask you to: * Formally denounce these strikes as a violation of Congress’s war powers. * Support legislative efforts (e.g., War Powers Resolutions) to reclaim congressional oversight. * Advocate for diplomacy over military escalation, which endangers lives and global stability. The American public deserves transparency and restraint—not unchecked executive warmaking. Please act to prevent another disastrous war.
