Why don't you know who the auto industry in your district is?

To: Rep. Barrett

From: A constituent in Lansing, MI

April 9

You are failing your constituents. Your telephone town hall intentionally excluded questions you didn't want to answer. You disparaged and denied the harm being done to local businesses and farmers, veterans, social security recipients. Perhaps most shameful, you don't even seem to know who you represent. When auto workers voiced concerns about layoffs, you mocked them by disparaging Stellantis's operations. But Tom, Stellantis operations in this state are in Southeast Michigan. Those aren't your constituents. Your autoworker constituents overwhelmingly work for GM. You know nothing about your constituents, about the auto industry, or about blue collar life. You are an empty suit who lies to his neighbors. And since you've clearly communicated your willingness to tell boldfaced lies that harm Michigan, I have to assume you're personally enriching yourself with your position in the process. No man who doesn't even know who builds cars in his district has any business making these calls. Your entire family and community should be deeply ashamed of you. But I guess it doesn't matter how they feel, since you just screen their calls.
