Prevent wasteful incineration of food aid for hungry populations

To: Sen. Fetterman, Rep. Scanlon, Sen. McCormick

From: A verified voter in Wallingford, PA

July 16

It is unconscionable to destroy 500 tons of emergency food aid at a time when millions face hunger and food insecurity around the world. This callous decision by the Trump Administration will needlessly worsen human suffering and further diminish America's standing as a humanitarian leader. Surplus food intended for crisis relief should be promptly distributed to those in need, not senselessly incinerated. Wasting vital resources meant to alleviate hardship is an affront to basic human decency. I urge you to take immediate action to prevent this egregious waste and uphold America's commitment to providing critical food assistance globally. The repercussions of this self-inflicted failure will reverberate beyond our borders.
