Iowa is no stranger to severe weather, and the National Weather Service (NWS) and NOAA are vital to protecting lives during tornadoes, floods, and other natural disasters. The proposed cuts to these agencies threaten public safety by eliminating the expertise and early warnings that prevent loss of life. In Iowa, farmers depend on accurate forecasts to protect crops, livestock, and plan harvests. Without NWS and NOAA, our agriculture industry and communities are at risk. This puts LIVES at risk. I urge you to oppose these cuts and prioritize preserving NWS and NOAA to keep Iowans safe.
