I am writing to express my disgust and embarrassment with which President Zelenskyy was treated in the Oval Office today. The lack of respect that President Trump and Vice President JD Vance had for the Ukrainian President does not reflect American values, and also does not represent careful and diligent handling of foreign affairs. Quite honestly I am embarrassed for us at this moment in American history. It is shameful that our leaders are choosing to coddle Putin on the world’s stage and we no longer seek to protect our allies who are being threatened. What will Congress do to help redirect our country’s efforts in a more positive way for the Ukrainian people?
