A Better Deal or No Deal to End Government Shutdown

To: Rep. Doggett

From: A constituent in Austin, TX

November 12

I am writing to urge you to oppose the continuing resolution in its current form. This bill does not contain long term protection for the ACA subsidies, nor does it do anything to protect against future illegal budget cuts. To add insult to injury, it includes a provision that would allow senators whose phone logs were subpoenaed during investigations into the January 6th insurrection to sue the government for up to $500,000. While the bill would reopen the government, it would not achieve any of the things that pushed closing the government, and until those goals are achieved I ask you to oppose this bill.
