Stop Enabling Dangerous Budget Cuts and Privatization
To: Sen. Hawley, Sen. Schmitt

I am writing as a deeply concerned constituent regarding the recently proposed federal budget that includes widespread privatization, program eliminations, and major structural changes to federal agencies.
This proposal would cut non defense spending by approximately 10 percent while eliminating dozens of programs and grants. It also includes significant workforce reductions, consolidation of services, and aggressive efforts to privatize key government functions. These are sweeping changes that would fundamentally reshape how the government operates and serves the public.
Entire programs that millions of Americans rely on are being targeted for elimination, including those related to housing, energy assistance, research, and public services. These cuts are not minor adjustments. They represent a serious rollback of support systems that people in this country depend on every day.
Privatization and workforce reductions on this scale risk weakening oversight, reducing accountability, and prioritizing profit over people. Shifting essential services away from public control is not reform. It is a dangerous step that could leave many Americans without the support they need.
I want to know why you are not publicly opposing these changes.
Why are you not standing up for your constituents who will be directly affected?
Why are you allowing such sweeping and harmful proposals to move forward without clear resistance?
You were elected to represent the people in your district, not to remain silent while critical programs are dismantled and federal workers are pushed out.
If you do not speak out and take action, you are complicit in the harm these policies will cause.
I expect a clear response outlining your position and what actions you will take to protect your constituents.
