Please do not vote to advance the Laken Riley Act. This is an unnecessary bill that over-empowers states when it comes to immigration. That is not the states purview! This bill is sure only to make undocumented immigrants less safe, harass legal migrants, and will do nothing to make anyone safer. There is no advantage in voting for Republican bills. You were elected to resist the incoming administration. There is no actual political risk in opposing it. Please do not give the incompetent administration and their cronies in the states any more power!
