The president's claim of being a "king" and his administration's move to kill New York City's congestion pricing program are deeply concerning from a democratic and constitutional standpoint. We must uphold the principles enshrined in our founding documents, which established a system of checks and balances and rejected monarchy. The president's words and actions appear to overstep the boundaries of executive power and undermine the rule of law. Revoking a policy like congestion pricing, which aims to reduce traffic and improve air quality, solely through executive fiat and without proper legislative process is an abuse of authority. As citizens, we have a civic duty to hold our leaders accountable and ensure they govern within constitutional limits. I urge you to take a firm stand against such autocratic tendencies and defend our democratic norms and institutions.
