Dismantle the Mass Detention Infrastructure Before It Turns on All of Us
Shut down the mass detention apparatus now, before it expands to the next target. This is not a hypothetical. Unhoused American citizens are already being picked up in California and transported to Utah for what the administration calls a "Homeless Campus." The infrastructure built for migrants does not get dismantled when migrants run out. It gets redirected.
That is how these systems work. The camps, the contractors, the databases, the legal exceptions carved out of the Constitution — they are not temporary. They are reusable. History is not ambiguous on this: once a state builds the machinery to cage and disappear one population, the target list expands. People with disabilities. People who dissent. Anyone outside the donor class who becomes inconvenient. The 14th Amendment does not get restored in that process. It gets shredded further.
You have the power to defund this apparatus, investigate its expansion, and put your name on legislation that draws a hard line. The time to act is before the infrastructure is fully normalized, not after it has consumed the next group on the list. Do your job and stop this now.
