An Open Letter

To: Sen. Campbell, Lt. Gov. Patrick, Gov. Abbott, Rep. LaHood

From: A verified voter in San Antonio, TX

I am writing as a resident of Texas who is deeply concerned about our statewide water scarcity. With aquifers declining, drought conditions persisting, and many regions already facing restrictions, I believe we are at a point where we cannot responsibly support additional data center development under current water conditions. Data centers require significant and continuous water resources for cooling, and expanding this infrastructure during an ongoing water crisis risks placing further strain on communities that are already vulnerable. I respectfully urge you to get involved and pause approvals for all new data centers until we have a clearer, sustainable path forward that protects Texas’ long‑term water security. Thank you for your attention to this issue and for your commitment to safeguarding our state’s most critical resource.
