This Is Not Trump’s $$$ to Use for Bribery
To: Rep. Pfluger, Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz

The bribery president. In September Trump used a prime-time speech to promise a $5K “dividend” if Republicans keep control of Congress after the midterms. Yes or no. Is the GOP Congress okay with spending well over $1 Trillion with a T of taxpayer money to bribe voters? And he continues to promise handouts. But increasingly threatening to withhold help if Republicans lose. Trump told an audience in North Carolina last night that, if Republicans win the House and Senate, he would direct the DOJ to settle “all remaining legitimate claims” from contaminated water at nearby Camp Lejeune “as soon as possible.” “If we don’t win,” Trump said, “there’s no money. If we do win, you are getting it, and it is going to be finally over with.” Veterans and their families have been fighting for years to be compensated for the exposure they had to contaminated water at the base in the 1980s that led to different cancers. Note. He says this won’t happen if Republicans lose in the midterms. Question. Why can’t he just go ahead and settle this issue without the implied extortion? And there’s more… “If the Republicans win, the Department of War will be investing $100 million in the pharmaceutical company Antheia to revitalize a gigantic drug manufacturing facility in Winchester, Kentucky,” Trump said at a rally in Kentucky. “That’s a big one,” he quipped. Ain’t that the truth. He offered a similar sweetener this week in Kansas, telling the audience he will remove bans on summertime sales of fuel blended with ethanol — made from Kansas’s crops — only if GOP Sen. Roger Marshall wins reelection next month. “With Roger Marshall in the Senate, we will make year-round E15 permanent. But if Adam Hamilton is in, I’m not going to do it. That’s it. I’m only doing it for him.” He also announced the so-called Harvest Fuel Relief Program, which would offer farmers $8B to “offset diesel costs during this harvest season,” and credited Marshall with the plan. He’s tossing a taxpayer-funded bone for a situation he’s responsible for and calling it governmental largesse. Trump called these plans “goodies” during his Kansas rally and let slip that he sees them as electoral levers he can pull to improve his political fortunes. “I always heard that when you’re president, you have a little bit of an advantage,” Trump said. “And I sort of see why now, actually. I sort of see why.” We the people don’t want to fund Trump’s bribes for voters. And that this is even seriously being considered as possible is insane. Take the checkbook away from him. It is not his money to spend like he’s a mob boss.
