Thumbs Down to the SAVE ACT

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody, Rep. Cammack

From: A verified voter in Gainesville, FL

February 11

The SAVE ACT is The equivalent of a poll tax on voters. Research shows that our elections are overwhelmingly safe, secure, and virtually free of fraud. Requiring voters to get present a passport or birth certificate that matches their current picture ID creates unnecessary barriers for married women and those who are economically or socially disadvantaged - the poor and elderly. This amounts to voter suppression and should be voted down or amended to be more fair to everyone.
