Stand up for your constituents and our country. Stand against the tariffs and Trump’s recent executive order (“National Emergency to Increase our Competitive Edge, Protect our Sovereignty, and Strengthen our National and Economic Security”). You know the tariffs are a bad idea. You know the executive order is just a farce. There’s no lipstick in the world that can dress up this pig: Trump and his policies are hurting America and Americans. How many more Americans do I need to watch lose their jobs before you speak up? How many more Texans need to have their retirement savings destroyed before you do something to help? How many of my neighbors have to worry about how to make ends meet for their families before you do the job you were elected to do? Trump is destroying the U.S. economy. The administration’s actions are negatively impacting ordinary citizens in ways that it will take years to recover from. Use your position to stop the insanity of this administration’s actions. You’re an elected member of the legislative branch and a member of the majority party, don’t act like your hands are tied in this moment of crisis. Stop Trump’s destruction of the economy!
