The United States should remain firm in its support for Ukraine and resist pressure to make unacceptable territorial concessions to Russia. Allowing the forced annexation of Crimea to stand would set a dangerous precedent of recognizing borders changed by military aggression, undermining the rules-based international order. While a negotiated settlement is desirable to end the devastating conflict, any deal must uphold Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity as a matter of principle. Russia's blatant violation of international law and norms cannot be rewarded. Ukraine has shown immense resilience in defending its land, and the nation deserves continued backing, not appeasement of the aggressor. A just peace requires accountability for Russia's actions and the restoration of Ukraine's rightful borders.
