I urge you to vote NO on the proposed $1.5 trillion funding request for the Pentagon. At a time when essential programs for Americans and veterans are being cut, dramatically increasing military spending is irresponsible, especially when the Pentagon has still not passed a full audit and serious questions remain about oversight and accountability. Recent actions by the administration have also raised grave concerns about U.S. national security and global leadership. Our alliances have been strained, congressional war powers have been disregarded, and rhetoric about military force has become increasingly reckless. These actions damage our credibility and make the world less stable. Congress has a constitutional responsibility to oversee military actions and spending. Continuing to approve massive funding increases without accountability risks enabling policies that undermine both U.S. law and international norms. Please exercise Congress’s authority over appropriations and war powers. Vote NO on additional Pentagon funding.
