Rescissions Act of 2025
To: Rep. Moolenaar
From: A verified voter in Nashville, MI
June 18
Your vote in favor of the Rescissions Act of 2025, which includes cutting all funding for public media, was deeply disappointing—but unfortunately, not surprising. At this point, your unwavering loyalty to the extremist wing of your party has made one thing clear: you are more interested in playing the role of a political lackey than in representing the people of Michigan with thoughtfulness or independence.
Supporting a bill that guts the Corporation for Public Broadcasting—a service that millions rely on for honest journalism, educational programming, and cultural access—doesn’t reflect fiscal prudence or conservative values. It reflects obedience to an anti-democratic agenda that aims to silence free and balanced voices.
Do you actually believe this serves your constituents, or are you simply checking the boxes handed to you by party leadership?
You were elected to think critically, to represent the best interests of your district, and to act with integrity. If you’re unwilling to do that—if you’re content to follow orders instead of leading with conviction—then you’re not fulfilling your oath. You’re just playing a part.
I urge you to reconsider who you’re working for. Because right now, it doesn’t appear to be us.
