Prioritize human rights over military funding, investigate atrocities
To: Sen. Butler, Sen. Padilla

The provision of $20 billion in military aid must be reevaluated in light of evidence of human rights violations and genocide happening. As a nation committed to upholding human rights and dignity, we cannot in good conscience enable or fund actions that contribute to such atrocities. Diverting these funds towards humanitarian aid, conflict resolution, and addressing root causes would better align with our values and global responsibilities. A thorough, impartial investigation is urgently needed to ensure accountability and prevent further suffering. We call upon our elected representatives to demonstrate moral leadership by prioritizing human lives over military expenditures.
