OUR PRESIDENT IS A WEAK BUT DANGEROUS MAN

It’s true. The current hubbub over the Reflecting Pool debacle shouldn’t be the most important thing on our collective minds. It should be the corruption. The Iran war. The incompetence. The assault on our civil liberties. Attacks on the law. Erosion of our voting rights. Epstein. But it’s just another in a lengthening line of straws that are breaking the camel’s back. And it’s definitely the current most obvious metaphor, analogy, cautionary tale, reality-check on the fabulist universe our current president lives in. He lives in a world where his every decision is perfect. Where all he has to do is bark and someone jumps and makes it so. And when it’s not perfect after all, it’s off with their heads, the dog ate my homework, or the mysterious forces that suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome are to blame. Not him. Never him. Because he is the best at anything and everything. Just ask the docs who keep insisting he take cognitive tests. Example. Did anyone even know when Obama redid the Reflecting Pool? I expect DC did. And that an occasional headline must have shown up. But it certainly wasn’t the new national pastime. But it is now because our president, like he does with every single thing he insists on touting as the most amazing act by an amazing president doing amazing stuff no one else can do, makes it so. He cannot admit when his caca hits the fan. And he expects us to blindly follow his lead, contrary to actual reality. He’s going nuts and taking us with him. Now Trump has issued a National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM-7), titled “Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence.” Which calls for a National Joint Terrorism Task Force to investigate Americans engaging in protest. And orders his personal AG to prosecute protest as a federal crime…to the maximum extent permissible by law. So now our right to protest can be interpreted as…if you so much as look at the Reflecting Pool wrong, you are a protester intent on harming the country you live in. It’s happened already. Innocent people are being arrested for so much as touching the water. He’s accusing us of, and arresting us for, vandalizing a project that was handled as carelessly as everything else he does. It failed. And now we’re to blame. He’s trying to blanket-accuse anyone who might point out that the fault was his. So if you’re planning a trip to DC to see how your tax dollars were spent, watch yourself. Because the same cameras that have not shown us any evidence that we the people attacked the Reflecting Pool with a box cutter will be watching you. And a scapegoat must be found.
