Vote No on the SAVE Act

To: Sen. McCormick, Sen. Fetterman

From: A constituent in Lewisburg, PA

July 27

Vote no on the SAVE Act and the Make Elections Great Again Act. These bills would strip voting rights from millions of eligible American citizens by requiring passports or birth certificates to register — documents that more than 21 million Americans don't have ready access to. Roughly half of Americans don't own a passport. Millions of women's married names don't match their birth certificates. This isn't a minor inconvenience; it's a barrier designed to exclude. The bills solve a problem that doesn't exist. The Trump administration's own findings, along with state-level investigations in Louisiana and Utah, confirm that illegal voting is vanishingly rare. What these bills would actually do is create chaos for election administrators, expose local officials to criminal penalties for honest mistakes, and end mail voting as the primary option in eight states and Washington, DC. Blocking eligible citizens from voting to address a manufactured crisis is not election integrity — it's voter suppression. Reject these bills.
