You Own This Shutdown — Learn the Beatitudes and Do Your Job

To: Rep. Loudermilk

From: A constituent in Woodstock, GA

November 10

This is your shutdown. This is your betrayal of the people in your district. And this is your moral failure as someone who pretends to lead in faith while bowing to power, greed, and political theater. You want to quote the Bible? Start with Jesus. Stop hiding behind the Ten Commandments like a shield for your political games. Even those you fail. But more importantly, Jesus gave us the Beatitudes — His actual words — and by those, you are exposed. Start Here: The True Teachings of Christ “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3) — You hurt the poor with every vote to delay services, raise premiums, and gut assistance. “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” (Matthew 5:7) — Where is your mercy? Federal workers are going unpaid while you collect a salary. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9) — You’re not making peace. You’re fueling division. This shutdown is your creation. “Woe to you… You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside you are full of greed and self-indulgence.” (Matthew 23:25) — Stop pretending. Your constituents see the truth, even if you don’t speak it. “Whatever you did not do for the least of these, you did not do for me.” (Matthew 25:45). You are actively failing Jesus by failing the sick, poor, and working families. What You Need To Do Immediately: 1. Stop lying in your newsletters. Your constituents read the bills. We know the truth. 2. Return to Washington. You don’t get to shut down the government from the sidelines. 3. Pass a clean continuing resolution (CR) that fully funds the government. No poison pills. No side deals. No split pay. 4. Do not support any vote that pays only military or border patrol while excluding civilian workers. We all serve this country. Don’t divide the workforce. 5. Fund CDC, HHS, and prevention agencies fully. Public health is not optional — it’s national security. 6. Publicly support a December vote to lock in healthcare subsidies. Premiums are being set. You’re already too late — but don’t make it worse. 7. Hold an in-person town hall in Woodstock or Cherokee County. You work for us. Show up and face the people you’re hurting. 8. Stop voting to block the release of the Epstein files. Hiding predators is not moral. It is complicity. You call yourself a man of faith, but you’re a bootlicker to political power, not a servant of the people. You serve Trump, not truth. Donors, not decency. Power, not Christ. If you truly cared about the word of God, you would repent for the harm you’ve caused, vote to end this shutdown immediately, and stop hiding behind religion to excuse cruelty. We see you. And so does God. Do your job. End the shutdown. Or step aside for someone who will.
