Protect Job Corps funding, invest in youth job training

To: Sen. Hickenlooper, Rep. Crank, Sen. Bennet

From: A constituent in Colorado Springs, CO

May 21

The Job Corps program encompasses 123 campuses nationwide and employs thousands of dedicated instructors and staff to provide essential career training and opportunities for thousands of young Americans. Eliminating this program would deprive many youths of a pathway to develop valuable vocational skills and secure well-paying jobs in industries facing labor shortages. Rather than abolishing Job Corps, efforts should be made to improve its performance and outcomes while continuing to offer this critical workforce development resource. Investing in job training programs like Job Corps strengthens our skilled labor force and supports economic growth. I urge you to protect funding for the Job Corps and ensure its continuation.
