Responsible allocation of funds over extravagant military parade

To: Rep. Turner, Sen. Husted, Sen. Moreno

The revelations about the Army's plans for a potential large-scale military parade on President Trump's 79th birthday raise concerns about the excessive cost and disruption such an event would entail. Involving over 6,600 soldiers, 150 vehicles, 50 helicopters, and thousands of civilian participants would likely cost tens of millions of dollars and cause significant damage to roads and infrastructure in Washington D.C. While the Army has a right to celebrate its 250th anniversary, prioritizing an extravagant display over more constructive uses of resources seems misguided. As citizens and taxpayers, we should urge our representatives to carefully scrutinize these plans and ensure public funds are allocated responsibly towards initiatives that truly benefit our nation and its people. A more modest commemoration befitting the Army's service would be more appropriate.
