Investigate Supreme Court Misconduct and Pass Binding Ethics Legislation

Investigate Supreme Court Misconduct and Pass Binding Ethics Legislation Congress must open a formal investigation into Supreme Court justices for financial impropriety and pass binding ethics legislation that includes real accountability — up to and including impeachment for violations. The Court has no enforceable code of conduct, and that has to end now. We have justices making decisions that affect millions of Americans while facing zero consequences for undisclosed gifts, travel, and relationships with parties who have interests before the Court. That is not judicial independence — it is corruption with a lifetime appointment attached. Any ethics reform worth passing must include a clear legal and moral code, mandatory disclosure, and an impeachment mechanism for justices who break the law. Voluntary compliance is not a standard; it is a loophole. Senator Schiff has already said publicly that ethics reforms alone are insufficient because the current Court would rule on them in its own self-interest. That makes congressional action — with teeth — the only path forward. I expect you to introduce or co-sponsor legislation that treats Supreme Court justices the same way every other public official is treated: accountable to the law, subject to investigation, and removable for misconduct.
