I urge you to oppose the confirmation of Tulsi Gabbard as Director of National Intelligence. During her Senate hearing, alarming concerns were raised about her fitness for this critical role overseeing the vast U.S. intelligence community. Gabbard refused to condemn Edward Snowden as a traitor for illegally leaking classified information, demonstrating a concerning stance on protecting national security secrets. Her past defense of Russia's "legitimate security concerns" in invading Ukraine and meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad are highly troubling positions for someone nominated to lead our intelligence agencies. Furthermore, allegations that she met with Hezbollah representatives in Lebanon in 2017, if true, would represent unacceptable ties to a U.S.-designated terrorist organization. Gabbard's judgment and allegiances have been called into serious question by members of both parties. For the sake of our nation's security, I implore you to reject her nomination and demand a candidate who can lead the intelligence community with unimpeachable integrity and unwavering commitment to American interests.
