On 25 October 2026, Flávio Bolsonaro lost in a runoff election for president of Brazil. Rather than concede and relinquish his passports, as he was ordered to do by Brazilian Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, he has since fled Brazil for the United States to escape potential prosecutions in a number of corruption cases.
I am absolutely appalled that Bolsonaro’s escape to Miami was arranged, in part, by White House officials. Trump himself ordered the State Department to issue visas to Flavio Bolsonaro and his family, and sources including the New York Times report that they will likely be granted permanent residency.
Especially in contrast to the current U.S. administration’s aggressive deportation practices against respected and productive members of society, granting safe haven to a failed tyrant is an outrageous breach of conduct.
I am writing to demand the immediate revocation of the Bolsonaro family's U.S. visas. We cannot offer shelter to foreign criminals.
