Strong Opposition to Proposed Federal Budget Cuts and Privatization Agenda

I am writing to express my deep concern and strong opposition to the direction outlined in former President Donald Trump’s proposed federal budget and reform agenda.
Recent reporting makes clear that this plan would slash non defense agencies by roughly 10 percent, eliminate dozens of programs, and aggressively pursue privatization and consolidation across the federal government. These are not minor adjustments. They represent a fundamental dismantling of core public services that millions of Americans rely on.
The proposal includes cutting critical programs related to housing, disaster preparedness, scientific research, and support for low income Americans, while eliminating grants and initiatives that strengthen communities and economic stability. This approach does not reflect responsible governance. It reflects a willingness to abandon vulnerable populations in favor of ideological goals.
Equally troubling is the push toward privatization, including efforts to expand private control over airport security and other government functions. This could result in job losses and reduced accountability to the public. Government exists to serve the people, not to outsource its responsibilities in ways that prioritize cost cutting over safety, stability, and fairness.
The consolidation and restructuring of major agencies raises serious concerns about transparency, oversight, and the concentration of power. These changes risk weakening the checks and balances that are essential in a functioning democracy.
At a time when Americans are already facing economic uncertainty and rising costs, this proposal would strip away essential supports rather than strengthen them. It sends a clear message that working families, federal employees, and vulnerable communities are not a priority.
I urge you to stand firmly against these proposals and advocate for a budget that protects essential services, supports federal workers, and invests in the well being of the American people, not one that dismantles the systems designed to serve them.
Your constituents are paying attention, and we expect leadership that prioritizes people over politics.
