Veto HB369
To: Gov. Kemp
From: A verified voter in Tucker, GA
April 30
Dear Governor Kemp,
I am writing as a Georgia constituent — and as a Democrat — to urge you to veto House Bill 369.
I want to be clear: I have genuine respect for many elected Republicans who have brought real integrity to their offices. Given a fair ballot, I would (and have) choose some of them. That is exactly the point. Voters deserve the ability to make informed choices, with full information about where candidates stand. HB 369 moves in the opposite direction — stripping party labels from ballots in five specific counties, not as a matter of principle, but as a matter of targeting.
If nonpartisan elections were truly better for Georgia voters, that case should be made statewide. Applying this rule only to Fulton, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Cobb, and Clayton tells Georgians that this is about politics, not good governance.
You have an opportunity to demonstrate the kind of integrity that earns cross-party respect. Please veto HB 369.
Respectfully,
