Defend Election Integrity: Condemn Federal Seizure of State Voter Records

To: Sen. McCormick, Rep. Smucker, Sen. Fetterman

From: A verified voter in Lititz, PA

September 1

Publicly condemn the DOJ's unlawful seizure of state voter records and the Trump administration's unconstitutional push to nationalize our elections. This is not a partisan ask — it's a constitutional one, and your silence on it is a choice. The administration has sued more than 20 states for refusing to hand over voter files, coerced Minnesota by threatening to pull ICE cooperation unless the state surrendered sensitive voter registration data, and conducted an FBI raid on Fulton County's election headquarters seizing ballots and voter rolls. Courts have already struck down parts of Trump's executive order requiring proof of citizenship to register, finding the executive branch simply lacks that authority. A secret national citizenship database is now being used to screen voters, with zero transparency about how that data is being used or who it could wrongly flag. Elections are run by states. That's not a technicality — it's the foundation of how this country prevents centralized control over who gets to vote. Stand up and say so publicly.
