Senate bill 5 is a disgrace to kentucky teachers and the community as a whole. Underperforming schools are typically affected by Maslows hierarchy of needs and is a reflection of the struggle kentucky families are going through instead of the teachers themselves. In order to meet these needs, we should look at more resources for the children and families, such as school wide free lunches, more help for mental services, etc. Paris independent schools are a good example. They meet these needs regularly despite an unliked and under performing principle and their growth shows. They are the fastest growing district in the state. Please stop senate bill 5 and fund more services helping the communities instead.
